He Wants to Jizz on Your Face, but Not Why You Think [Jezebel]

girl smiles facial

“Cum on me, not in me” was a popular sex educator slogan as far back as the late 1980s. Ejaculating on a woman’s stomach, however, usually meant that the camera wouldn’t let the audience see the actress’ expression. But if the male actor came on her face, the viewer could see two things at once: evidence of male pleasure (symbolized by the ejaculation) and the equally important sign that a woman’s reaction to that pleasure mattered…

…the intense appeal of facials in porn (and real life) was about men’s desire for that same experience of being validated as desirable, as good, as “not dirty.” For a young man raised with the sense that his body – and especially his penis – is “disgusting”, a woman’s willingness to accept a facial is an intensely powerful source of affirmation.

I think of the “facial” as a sort of esteem boosting act for the giver, but not necessarily degrading to the receiver. The thought that a person lusts for me so bad that they beg to wear a mask of my jizz is quite a turn on.

This desire to be reaffirmed of your worth can be extended to any sex act and applies to all genders. We all love to be loved like we love to give love.

For further analysis on the subject of facial ejaculation make sure to read the full Jezebel article.

The Condom Mandate [Update]

porn scene with condom

An ordinance sponsored by the AIDS  Healthcare Foundation that requires LA porn productions to use condoms inorder to receive a film permit was tentatively approved last week by the Los Angeles City Council. Today a second vote gave the final approval. The law will go into effect in 90 days, at which point the LAPD can perform spot checks on permitted sets.

The Safer Sex in the Adult Industry Act will not affect films shot in studio. It applies only to permitted locations, like rented houses. I.e., it’ll apply to most sets. Though, I presume some will go guerilla style and film without a permit.

For a while now, the Cal/OSHA and AHF have interpreted a work-safety regulation already in the law books to mean unprotected sex on porn sets to be illegal. Before the passing of this new ordinance that interpretation was barely enforced.

The industry has been vocal on its anti-condom stance, which is disconcerting from an education and health perspective but sensible in a free-speech context.

In regards to health, self-regulation in the industry, such as requiring performers to have STD tests every month, has worked for many if not most. Over the decades HIV cases in the industry have been scarce. No doubt, requiring condoms would give performers the best protection. But it’s worth discussing wether a condom mandate is worth its implications.

The Streets Aren’t Safe

It’s super hard to avoid human sexuality today. Billboards, HBO, the Internet: they all glisten with smutty smut. As you’re well aware, with today’s accessible technology, it doesn’t take much effort for anyone to indulge in sexually explicit entertainment. Preventative measures such as pixelation, NSFW tags/warning messages, rating systems, and filtering software have helped to curb the excitement. But even with all the censoring society imposes, this ‘sex’ thing isn’t losing strength. Soon enough hard cocks will be part of the backdrop as you walk down the street. Actually, it’s already happening. This I learned on the corner of Hollywood and Las Palmas:

explicit uncensored porn on newsstand

That magazine cover featuring the preceding moment to fellatio was on display on a sidewalk-newsstand in full daylight. Following a screening of Barry Lyndon (a three-hour movie) at the Egyptian, it remained untouched. No one cared or noticed, and this made me happy. The newsstand’s bold display was most likely not intended by the vendor. The pornography’s placement was probably left by a mischievous passerby. Wouldn’t it be nice, though, if the vendor was indifferent, and the only people who noticed it were the ones who were looking, and as they saw it they thought nothing of it, expressing the same non-reaction they had to every other magazine on sale.

It reminds me of the pirated DVD stores I visited in South America, some of which had their uncovered porn section a few feet away from Spongebob.

I’ve been ready to call it quits on concealment. If a kid can catch a glimpse of a blowjob on Hollywood Blvd and more on a computer screen, what’s the point of hiding our collective stash? Sex and porn are out of the bag. It makes sense to be frank at this point.

About the “Porn Wikileaks” and AIM’s Database “Leak” [tinynibbles]

You know Porn Wikileaks, exposer of porn performers’ real names, is run by bigots out to smear pornography when each performer’s profile begins like this: “_______ is a pornographic whore and Hooker.” On their real name page Porn Wikileaks makes sure to let you know that these “Hookers” are ”degrading the whole family name.”

Their stated motivation is, “To get the gays out of straight porn and illegal gay pimps that have ruined porn and shut it down making condoms mandatory by the government now. The fag loving has got to stop. California is full of gay Mexicans and now they can even marry which is so wrong.”

Anyone who’s been tested at AIM is at risk of having their private information exposed. Follow link for help resources and more info.

The Black Spark Makes Gay Porn For All

I must admit that there is a glaring omission in my crash course to quality porn. There’s no reference to guy on guy. Gay porn was never a strong suit for High On Sex. Although this is mostly a reflection of my hetero-leaning orientation, I can’t discount the contribution the status quo has had on the content I consume and share. If gay porn were treated like lesbian porn, then there would certainly be more good gay content to stumble upon and disperse. But this isn’t the state we’re in.

Allow me to repeat the feminist rants against the patriarchy: It’s a straight-man’s world where women are the visually sexualized sex. Through advertising, art, and entertainment we learn that girls are supposed to be sexy & beautiful. Straight women are allowed to admire (even be turned on by) female models. Men, on the other hand, can’t stare at the male performer’s ass.

And when people say ‘gay porn’ they mean man-on-man. Girls eating pussy isn’t “gay. It’s hot. It’s contradictory, but lesbianism in porn is not a big deal to a supposedly homophobic porn viewer. And when they talk about ‘lesbian porn’ they mean the Viv Thomas variety, which is targeted toward straight men not lesbians.

‘Lesbian’ just doesn’t have the weight of male and gay. It’s practically a requirement for female porn stars to do girl-girl scenes. Many, who don’t identify themselves as lesbians, choose to only perform with girls on camera. From this we can gather that society sees women as bisexual by default, which adds to their already high sex appeal (yay for straight men). With that settled there’s no need to label a girl-on-girl-on-guy group scene ‘bi porn.’ This label only applies if a man blows or penetrates another man in an MMF scene.

Is it not a double standard for gay-man sex to be segregated exclusively for a gay/bi male audience? ‘Dyke’ porn exists primarily for the lesbian demographic, yet the totality of lesbian sex is not exclusive to a gay/bi female audience. Lack of male gayness in ‘straight’ porn is inconsistent with the fact that lesbian sex acts are common in for-straight porn productions.

Hetero-man’s perspective on sexuality has been passed on to all. Look at a number of erotic blogs run by women and you’ll have to navigate a few pages back to find a single photo that focuses on a man and may never find one of a guy fucking another guy. Yet that one sexy lesbian photo is reblogged on every straight guy’s and girl’s tumblelog.

Because the imagery of the male exhibitionist and man-on-man sexuality is assigned to one niche, production of such content is limited. The demand for straight/lipstick lesbian porn overshadows that of gay content. Simple mathematics says that there’s less quality gay content to find than straight and that it’s harder to discover among the mounds of pussy and boobs. In all fairness, one can’t criticize ambisexual bloggers for not posting enough content with manly eroticism. It’s not so much any individual’s or group’s fault as it is the state of society.

Unless gay and solo-male sexiness becomes more acceptable and thus grows in demand, images of straight sex and sexy women are going to be the main attraction for most erotophiles. Female or Male, it’s irrelevant if you identify as somewhere in between a 0 and a 3 on the Kinsey Scale. Our culture is inclined to glamorize girls.

Porn Research – Survey

Our project is concerned with the everyday uses of pornography, and how the people who use it feel it fits into their lives. Pornography is of course a highly topical issue, subject to many opposing views and ‘strong opinions’. And we are not saying that there are no moral or political issues.  But we are saying that the voices of users and enjoyers have been swamped.  In fact, there is very little research that engages with the users of pornography, asking how, when and why they turn to it.
